Buying a house contaminated by?meth-amphetamines can be a sure-fire way to lose a ton of money, cause unnecessary health issues to yourself and/or tenants and last but not least, find yourself staring down the barrel of a big lawsuit?

Why?

Because properties used as meth labs, or even as places for meth users to smoke meth, often have extremely toxic chemicals that have seeped into the walls, floors and ceilings. And, to make matters worse, they?re not easily removed. The problem is so serious, it can result in a complete tear down of your new property.

Here?s a few tips on how to avoid this potential real estate investing nightmare:

  • Call or visit the police. Ask them to check the address for drug raids and drug arrests
  • Call the health department and check the address for reports
  • Have it tested. Professional testing can be expensive. You can get inexpensive test kits here

It?s a shame that we have to do this, but it?s necessary. Accidentally buying a meth house is a?legitimate?concern which could derail your investing career quickly. Take the necessary steps to avoid this potential nightmare.
