Reinhardt College and University is located 5 miles north of Canton in nearby Waleska, GA.

One of Canton’s strong points has definitely got to be the low property taxes. The average Cherokee County resident pays only $1600 per year in property taxes compared to almost twice that in neighboring Forsyth and Fulton Counties. The tax burden here is very low also when compared to most counties in north of Atlanta.

Canton’s climate is similar to most of North Georgia. The northern mountainous part of the county tends to receive more harsh weather in the winter than the rest of the county.
